I bought 5 and thought I would put them in strategic places around the house where I could plug my laptop in without warting on the wall. except that I was too hasty and didn't read that it would NOT charge a Type-C laptop. The main reason for the purchase was gone. Well, at least I know that new devices - phones, iPads, etc - are likely to migrate to USB3 Type-C, so start replacing the standard outlets on the kitchen island. After unplugging the standard outlet, notice that a) it's in-line so two wires need to be dealt with, and b) the box is SUPER SMALL. and greener above. It's twice the size of a standard socket and doesn't even fit in the box, which is supposed to be flat as it's already flush with the inside of the island that holds boxes etc and can't help but go deeper. I then look at the wall outlets and find that most if not all have 2 wires to deal with and with wires coming in and being placed in a standard work box this unit is VERY tight. So it's best to prepare for a lot of rewiring and possibly changing work boxes if there's room for that. At the moment I'm not sure if the trouble is worth the profit or the dollars for it and I'm considering returning the other 4 unopened.
