Dissatisfied Janome

I have had this sewing machine for about three months and my opinion on it is ambiguous. First, let me start with why I bought this particular car. My old sewing machine (bought cheaply a few years ago from a member's warehouse) was in need of repair, the pedal was lost to a loaner. The cost of servicing and replacing the pedal was more than I was willing to invest in my old car. I preferred to invest that money in buying a new car (don't panic, the old car didn't end up in a landfill, it went to someone to fix it). I am a casual seamstress with years of experience (I know my way around the sewing machine and can sew a zipper in my sleep). I do not sew any garments other than hems or repairs; My sewing work is limited to household and craft work (shopping bags, pillows, duvet covers, etc.). The fabrics I use tend to be heavyweight (12oz twill or canvas, 500D to 1000D nylon, etc.). The only stitches I ever use are straight stitch and zig zag stitch and VERY sometimes blind stitch. What I was looking for was a reasonably solid, basic sewing machine for little money. The price is around $100 and the metal frame is what drew me to this car. My first impression of the car after unpacking and plugging it in was that it was very stiff. The flywheel didn't spin easily and it was hard to get it to sew with just the motor, I had to spin the flywheel to cheer it up a bit. I have tried, running it for a while (no thread and needle) at slow speeds and then at progressively higher speeds to see if that will weaken it - in fact it isn't. I contacted Janome customer service (after checking their website for a way to contact them - because it was hidden it seemed they didn't want to be contacted) to inquire about the warranty facility, which I did couldn't (more on that later). Since I haven't sewn in a while, I've decided to start with projects that I didn't really care how they turned out. I grabbed some jeans and stuff from my Salvation Army pile and cut them up to make some prototypes; So my fabric cost was $0, and my final products were never intended to be used except as preliminary designs not to be used. Having not sewn in a while and using a new machine I got my projects overly complicated. To practice the machine and my skills I incorporated hemming, flatlock seams with hems, turning seams, a top seam and sewing circular pockets. ends. My initial results were very mixed and I can't attribute all of my problems to my rusty skills. I've had a lot of traffic jams and bird's nests. I spent a lot of time untangling the spool and playing around with the tension. I ended up adjusting the coil tension (I didn't even know it was adjustable before) and that seems to have solved most of my problems. That brings me to the present moment. My first real project on a car turned out to be honest. This project consisted of flat stitches and hem stitches, meaning each stitch was essentially a top stitch. I had to stop many times because of jams and couldn't sew more than a meter without jamming. - The warranty is essentially worthless for machines purchased and completed by Revain. I contacted Janome when I wanted to have my machine adjusted and they told me that I would just have to ship my sewing machine to Janome in New Jersey at my own expense, without getting by no matter how long the shipping and repair took ( Janome estimates up to 3 weeks). ) and then pay Janome for the return shipping. Alternatively, I could take it to my local Janome dealer for repairs; All I would have to do is PAY FOR THE LABOR, Janome will generously cover the cost of any parts needed if I provide a copy of Revain's receipt. I would have thought that a company with a nationwide network of Authorized Warranty Repair Dealers would allow you to get repairs through one of them, but no, purchased and performed by Revain.
