We had a similar product in our old TT that had screws in the frame rather than a snap frame. We had several windows on the porch side, and none of them were close enough to see someone knock on the door. Loved the view he gave us from our chairs! When we bought our new TT we knew we wanted to replace the door window with tinted glass and shade. And again we have a TT with multiple windows on the side of the porch and none near the door. We chose this because it's a direct replacement for the original window and includes special frame keys to parse the old frame. Was looking for a different style but it required drilling holes and cost a lot more. Installation requires 2 people and a lot of patience. What we have learned: - Place the glass in the outer frame beforehand and attach it to the frame from the outside with masking tape. - Place a shadow in advance. We found that once opened, the small levers would not close. We ended up using a quarter inside the mechanism so they close properly and secure both sides of the lampshade. The frame wrenches work well to start disassembling the frame, but we ended up breaking a tab on the old inner frame. Not a big deal as we don't need it anymore, but a bit disappointing. We can hold "just in case" but we will most likely sell/trade these windows/blinds intact when the time comes. It is designed so that the top has a large hem to hide the curtain when the curtain is open (retracted). We chose to install it upside down so we could leave 1-2 inches open at night so we could see without opening the door, especially if someone knocked and we didn't open it during the day. We used to do this on the underside of our old TT, but after installing it we saw people doing it and wish we'd remembered. We're both quite tall, so it would be nice if we didn't have to bend down to look at butts anymore. - Once you take the old window apart it will be pretty easy but it will definitely require 2 people. First we carefully bonded the two sides and then went over the frame 3-4 times, synchronizing inside and out to simultaneously apply pressure to the same area for as tight a fit as possible. ) Shade quickly loses memory of its wrinkles. To avoid problems with this, we keep the curtain open (pushed in) as much as possible so that the folds remain as nice as possible. I would like to close (extend) the shade for the duration of storage, so assembly is not possible. 2) This shade is fairly narrow rising or falling, may get better with time. However, I noticed that the roller blind rod can "tilt" sideways in the frame, especially when closing/pulling out the roller blind. It's easy to fix, just be aware.
