Very hard material and difficult to adjust the length

Ordered for kittens because they are adjustable. However, the material they are made of is very stiff and the "jewel" stripe on one collar makes adjustment almost impossible (I broke my nail doing this). Once you manage to double them up to a shorter length, they become too stiff for kitties to wear. They'll probably fit an adult cat using a full-length collar, and they're definitely cute. A bell was also missing from one of the collars.
