I bought the mug because of the looks and the good reviews. There were also some not-so-great reviews, often made with strong negative emotions (like what people do, do something because it's nice and then regret it. LOL). I like to try things myself, despite some negative reviews. After a month I had to throw away the coffee cup (cup/whatever that means)1. After washing it a few times before use, my coffee had a weird aftertaste coming from the coffee cup. (I have a Keurig as well as a coffee grinder - one for quick brews and one for when I'm not working). I've never had an aftertaste problem. 2. There was a strange sound every time I poured hot coffee into a cup. After about 1 1/5 weeks I heard some liquid in the coffee cup. I really liked the mug so I decided to brush it off until my wife noticed the sound of liquid in the coffee mug about a month later. For reference: I only hand washed the mug, like all other coffee mugs. Received a defective item and had to dispose of it. Didn't want to risk deposits in the coffee cup.
