The pinout in the manual is wrong
It is important to understand that the pinout in the manual is completely wrong. Correct contacts: 1 - 5 V DC. Power +2 - Ground and VDC. to your computer. via the USB port. 5 VDC can be supplied through your computer's USB port. For marine applications the output must be connected to the serial port as follows: pin 5 - ground - to the BR 355 SR (pin 2) and to the autopilot; Pin 3 - data input - from BR 355 SR (pin 6); Pin 2 - data - to your autopilot
