Technically this product has all the features advertised but the software that controls the hardware is imperfect at best. I've only had trouble getting this device to work properly. The motion detection function cannot detect motion or objects in the camera's field of view. In some cases I believe this is due to inconsistent notifications. The device has a playback function, however video clips are not transferred until the SD card is removed and reinserted. There is also a discrepancy between the number of videos recorded on the SD card and the number of motion detection notifications reported by the device. Essentially, all of the expected motion events (video clips) were successfully written to the SD card, however the videos were missing the appropriate motion detection event (notifications) and would not play until the SD card was removed and reinserted. Overall, the hardware appears to work as advertised, but grossly inadequate software prevents these features from working together. I can confirm that the device is also suffering from connection issues, but I don't think that contributed to the above notification, playback issues and motion detection. The device is designed to use the beacon periodically to report any new events since the last beacon signal. A connection issue is preventing live viewing, but the device appears to reconnect quickly when a connection error occurs. On a positive note, the solar panel charges the camera 100%, but powering a mostly useless device is hardly an achievement. In general, the hardware seems to have all the advertised technical capabilities, but the software fails to make them useful in any way. I cannot recommend this product. I also threw away the box so now I'm stuck on this thing. Fingers crossed there are a few updates.
