Review on πŸ’» Thermaltake TT Gaming PCI-E x16 3.0 Extender Riser Cable 200mm - Enhanced Performance and Sleek Black Design (AC-053-CN1OTN-C1) by Mike Rice

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Hardly suitable for Node 202, but probably the best option you have.

The cable itself feels, looks and works well. (fingers crossed for now) I've had a Node 202 for 4 years, 0 problems until 2 weeks ago. The included riser card failed, well, one of the parts in the kit. I tried an ASUS product because I needed high quality, also I have an ASUS motherboard and the product was amazing quality but they only sell right angle adapters so I had no luck with the fit. ThermalTake was the next famous brand to have one, and they had one that ran straight instead of at right angles. If you want to build this into node 202, just know that while it was possible, it was insanely difficult, but doable. In my drawing I will indicate the specific area that you need to remove from the case if you want to insert it into the GPU without damaging the case. But if you crop the width a little wider, that's no problem. The problem was the length of the cable, not the width of its board. The only reason I give it 4/5 is because I think the width of the boards is a bit too big; for x16 riser that is not sloped. Why, because I believe that if it's not square we probably already have a mounting surface. I'm pretty sure most who use this cable are trying to get a tight fit, so the width of the board got in the way of my fall. But unless you're dealing with ultra-small form factor cases like the Node 202, Milo Z, RVZ02B, etc., then this is definitely a 5/5.

Pros
  • EMI shielded design reduces interference
Cons
  • Requires outlet
