Got this to replace the original antenna which was crumbling quite a bit as it continued slammed garage door, in and out. It's good that it doesn't hit the ceiling, bad that the radio reception is bad. Only strong local stations can be received. If you live in an area with strong FM signal this antenna will work, but if you are further away from your favorite stations it won't work very well. Not sure if the coil is actually wire or not to provide a more efficient length of wire. I can tell you the jeep oem antenna only had the coil in the plastic case and the coil on the outside was just for show, it was just molded plastic.
