Black And Decker ships this 17 piece screwdriver in a corrugated box with a Black + Decker sticker so it may not be a bargain. Gift without repackaging. When the box is opened, there are actually only 7 screwdrivers and 10 bits in the plastic holder. Because one of the drivers is multifunctional with 4 different Phillips tips, 3 slotted tips and 3 square tips. Each driver grip is packed in a plastic bag. When you remove the protective packaging, you'll immediately notice that the top of the screwdriver is either blue with a "+" sign, indicating it's Phillips, or red with a "-" sign, indicating it's Phillips. that it is a slotted head. The exception is the black-tipped multifunction driver. The orange portion of the grip has a silicone or rubber grip material, and the black knurled area closer to the stock for finger placement also provides some grip. The flange appears to be set into the handle rather than tucked around it like some of the more expensive drivers. The shank is stamped "chrome vandium" and the tip has a black oxide coating which should hold the screw tighter I think. One thing is for sure: it helps to align the driver with the slots on the screws. Unfortunately, none of the screwdrivers come with magnetised tips, despite the product page stating they do! Is it a manufacturing issue or a product description issue? I am not sure! This inconsistency is worthy of a one-star rating. Most people will probably prefer magnetized tips. A set of 17 Black+Decker screwdrivers is a good basic set for the price.
