Works great. Image quality and overall performance vary greatly depending on which Samsung phone you are using. As far as I could tell, the only difference between this and the new version is that the new version comes with a controller and a USB to Type-C adapter. Both parts are compatible with this model, they just have to be purchased separately . Only this first generation is compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7, although the newer one is more focused on the S8 or newer. The headset is fairly comfortable and stays in place much better than the standard headset that comes with your phone and which you can find anywhere in the store, and the whole system is undoubtedly much better at tracking your head movements. The system uses a lot of Oculus software as well as their store. So if you're not sure what apps are available for a good experience, go to the Oculus website and check out things that are available on the go and these are the same apps that you can run. My experience with this device has been very good except that the only compatible phone I have is my old S6 and it seems to overheat pretty quickly making you stop and close every time it does VR gaming wait for the phone to cool down. As a result, I could only play a VR game for about 15 minutes at a time and then always had to rest a little. That despite these inconveniences, the immersive experience of some of these apps and games and the price I charged to install them make it a great experience. And you can also cast what you're doing in virtual reality to Chromecast or another smart TV when using it with friends or family.
