Review on Yokohama Geolandar I/T-S G073 215/65 R16 98Q winter by Stanisaw Nader ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not exactly what I wanted, but basically everything is fine.

I am writing right away: I just installed these tires, the operating experience is one day. I’ll make a reservation right away: I’m comparing these tires with a regular Pirelli Scorpion Zero, of the same size. The snow has not fallen yet, so everything described about operation on asphalt with a slight minus (-2-3 C). The tires are very soft and comfortable. The heavy SUV holds the road superbly in a straight line, especially not paying attention to the unevenness of the asphalt. In a rut, the car behaves more than adequately - there is no need to hold the steering wheel with both hands. In fast turns, the situation is reversed - rolls are very large. You need to enter the turn with a significant decrease in speed. I attribute this to the fact that the tires are quite soft and, in my size, have a fairly high profile (60% of the width of 255 mm). Would love to try these tires on 19" or 20" rims, with a lower profile. I'm sure there would be much less problems with turns. Let's see what winter operation will say, but for now the conclusion is this: excellent tires for operation on a heavy SUV in Hong Kong and the surrounding area, with a relatively calm ride and a clear preference for comfort. Fans of aggressive driving may not like the tires. The tires are used on a Land Rover Discovery 4. - feedback after the season of operation, noticed disadvantages: - Banks in turns (size 255/60 18) - Behavior on ice - Behavior on the road during snowfall and on the road covered with snow porridge - Inability to climb diagonally onto the curb Advantages: - Low price Summary: Budget tires for driving a large SUV in the city in dry weather on clean asphalt. With snowfall, ice, outside the city, they turn an excellent SUV into an uncontrollable piece of metal weighing under three tons. Shall I put them on again? Definitely not. Recommend? Definitely not. The kit was sold without regret after the first season. PS: if you drive a car similar to mine, don't save. No options - studded Nokian, or something like that at the top level. Forget studless tires.

Pros
  • - Quiet - Soft - Handling in asphalt track - Handling on poor quality asphalt (potholes, patches, etc.) - Very reasonable price
Cons
  • - Banks in turns (size 255/60 18) - Behavior on ice - Behavior on the road during snowfall and on the road covered with snow porridge - Inability to climb diagonally onto the curb
