Xatrex quality. suitable for inverter

available Feet on the Big Island of Hawaii. I've been using a Xantrex TR1512 120 60 charging inverter for 11 years, apart from being a bit small for my power, the only maintenance I've ever done was dust off the fan connectors. Unfortunately he eventually died. So I bought a Xantrex 818-3010 a few weeks ago. InvChgr, Freedom XC PRO, 3000W, 12V, 150A, (My other Xantrex died same day) I ordered on Tuesday evening and to my surprise it was delivered on Saturday morning. I was not disappointed. I installed it within 30 minutes. Opening the box was pretty much the same as my old Xantrex considering the setup. The first thing I noticed is that it weighs a little less than older versions and is easier to assemble. New quick clamps simplified AC input and output and connected quickly. Take the time to ensure that pulling wires is not recommended. My batteries are 3 feet from the inverter and the genset is 60 feet. I pressed the power button and voila. Perfomance. more of a buzzing noise I would get from an inverter and through a TV. A flawless transition from generator power to inverter power. At peak load yes. 3 laptops, 3 TVs, router and modem, full size fridge, 2 fans and lights etc. Nothing goes out or bothers when the generator is off, lights don't dim or flicker. Now it covers all my energy needs. it loads quickly and efficiently. It charges my system less than twice as fast as my old Xatrex imo. Charger. (I checked the heat manually) Nothing should heat up when the pole is plugged in. I am currently using a 30amp 3 pin socket from my alternator and it works great for charging but sometimes it breaks the circuit at the outlet. I will switch to a 50 amp outlet as soon as possible. Just need a fork. :) What else can I say. Xantrex Quality Power.Backup and Labor.Mahaols.Alohas.

Pros
  • Faster and more efficient charging of the battery: It's even faster with the 100 A (2000 W model) / 150 A (3000 W model) charger! It is designed to charge discharged batteries that have been discharged to extremely low voltage including 0VDC. Ability to operate on low shore or generator power and a wide range of DC input voltages
