Review on ๐Ÿ–๏ธ Derwent Graphic Drawing Pencils: Medium Point, Metal Tin, Set of 12 (34214) by Kassandra Harris

Great crayons!

I do a lot of pencil drawing and it usually comes easy; Most of my work is done with a #2 or HB pen and the final shading is done with 2B and 6B pens. However, as I continue to improve my drawing skills, I thought it would be helpful to have a few more shading pen options. This Derwent set is perfect. At first I decided I would grab a couple of pencils and buy the whole set just for convenience. However, in my most recent work, I found that I used about 2/3 different hardness values in the shading process. I usually just put some graphite in there and use a cotton swab to spread it over each area. The downside is the lack of precision this method offers. However, with harder pencils, I was only able to use the pencil to blend thoroughly, which allowed me to get into tight corners without making things too dark. It's probably just basic drawing practice, but for me it was a new approach made possible by this kit. Derwent pencils are of a very high quality and this set includes all hardness values from 9H to 9B; There are also several duplicates, 24 in total (19 different hardness values). If you need a pencil set for any type of pencil art, check out this excellent set. I've attached a photo of my most recent work (1969 Camaro) drawn with these pens to the product images above. I hope this gives a good idea of the potential of this set.
