Not to say they're the worst, but probably not the best.

This is my first set of professional drawing pens so I definitely get better drawing results with my medium range 12 point set than anything I've used before. In reality, however, Derwent can be a little prickly. As for the leads, most of them are fine and sharpen perfectly, however at least two pencils, 2B and 3B, have problems with leads breaking in the sharpener and some roughness on the wood body making it almost impossible to sharpening them and like a result almost impossible to use and I

Great crayons!

I do a lot of pencil drawing and it usually comes easy; Most of my work is done with a #2 or HB pen and the final shading is done with 2B and 6B pens. However, as I continue to improve my drawing skills, I thought it would be helpful to have a few more shading pen options. This Derwent set is perfect. At first I decided I would grab a couple of pencils and buy the whole set just for convenience. However, in my most recent work, I found that I used about 2/3 different hardness values in the…

Disappointing at the very least

As someone who enjoys drawing, I really like testing out different products from time to time to see how they compare to what I'm making i use now. This time, however, I needed new pencils because my others were getting pretty short, so I got these. The body of the pencils is a major weak point, they kept cracking no matter which sharpener I used. This caused many breakages of the pencil lead below the tip because the body could not withstand the intense pressure when drawing. The case wasn't…

  • Affordability
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine

Prickly and contradictory

I'm trying to brush up on my style and find the perfect pencil. I mostly paint portraits, sometimes with landscape in the background, sometimes without. I decided to try these pens because of the many positive reviews, but they didn't really convince me. I also have a Prismacolor and a Staedtler Mars Lumograph that I use regularly. My biggest complaint is that the graphite appears to contain some type of contamination. Especially in the H-2B line, which I use the most, there is something that…

There's no lid on my tin can.

pencils are good. My review mainly relates to the packaging. I assumed it would have a lid with a set of pencils in a tin, but my set only had a base and was sealed so the pencils stayed in place in a thin cheap plastic tray underneath. But my kit didn't have a lid so I was a little disappointed. If the shrink wrap had ripped on delivery, the pens would have been scattered around the box and in the past some items fell out of the box through the minimally sealed ends. Many supplies handle boxes

Pros
  • STRONG PRECISION. Thanks to the hexagonal body, you will get more precision when drawing. Solid (H) grades have a 2.2mm core for sharp lines. Black (B) soft notes use 3.5mm lead for softer lines
