This apron had everything I was looking for in a chef's apron and light carpentry. Inexpensive, well designed, comfortable, looks great etc. However the buckle mechanism for the belts is just terrible. You can see in the picture that the straps fold nicely at an angle as they change direction through the buckle, but in reality the buckles just rotate. Taking inspiration from Mooji's apron design, I cut slits at about a 30 degree angle for the webbing and then cut off the buckles. To prevent fraying, I put tape behind the slots (and ordered some "fusible tape" to install later for a more secure solution). Tip: Don't make the slits too wide so that the straps have some resistance and don't fall out.
