Our bathtub drain plug is not removable. The previous owner sealed it. Therefore, you cannot remove and replace it. The ring was damaged and looks terrible. This connector works great. The only tricky part is you have to press down on the rubber ring so it "pops" down and seals. Just press the middle button to open it. Various colors and end caps included in the kit will help you choose the decor for your bathroom. For us this is perfect for our specific needs and applications. This is not a replacement for a metal tub pipe/ring, but does an excellent job of sealing out tub water and cleaning up the look of a tub with a currently damaged ring.
