This remote works right out of the box, increasing the volume, turning the TV on and off, changing channels and changing the input. However, the Vizio button on this remote does NOT work! So if you're hoping to adjust your TV's settings (brightness, contrast, etc.), choose a different remote control. I'm keeping these so I can at least turn on the TV and turn the volume up and down, but I've yet to find another remote that has access to the Vizio TV's settings.
