This remote works right out of the box, increasing the volume, turning the TV on and off, changing channels and changing the input. However, the Vizio button on this remote does NOT work! So if you're hoping to adjust your TV's settings (brightness, contrast, etc.), choose a different remote control. I'm keeping these so I can at least turn on the TV and turn the volume up and down, but I've yet to find another remote that has access to the Vizio TV's settings.

We lost the remote control. I tried another universal remote but our TV doesn't have a power switch and had to be turned on for the universal remote to be programmed. It is the perfect replacement for Visio. Worked straight away, no programming codes. We like it better than the original. The original felt cheap and the backing kept falling off. I am very satisfied with this product. It came in a box with no instructions, so I had my doubts straight away. I took it to my living room (after inserting 2 AAA batteries, not included) and pressed power. The TV arrived for the first time.
