the main part of the lock looks very conspicuous as metal parts put together and fastened with 4 screws; I see tiny gaps between each metal layer. Most metal plates themselves have some kind of weak spot, similar to incipient rust. The entire lock arrived unpolished and lightly used. The lock itself works great so far. There is a loose part in the main body of the lock. When shaken lightly, the loose part makes a noticeable noise. So far, this lock is worth its $2 asking price.
