No tools were required to replace the mailbox door. He just snaps. It took me less than a minute to put it in place and lock it in place. It is magnetic which keeps the door closed but also easy to open. It is durable and has quality parts and details. I have a 30 year old cement mailbox with a brick facade that is not easy to remove! However, replacing the front door was a breeze and the mailbox looks brand new. I set the standard for the whole area! If I knew how easy it is to replace it, I wouldn't put off buying it for so long. I highly recommend this product.
