Seriously I bought this coffee maker for my husband and nothing but trouble. Most importantly, this item was mounted to an Alexa-controlled switch so I could (prepared the night before) turn it on at the top and bottom for hot brewed coffee. We filled it with water to the 10-cup mark and used ground coffee for the coffee maker. There was coffee on the counter every morning. I couldn't tell if it was leaking or just coming up/out of the spout. Strange considering it wasn't even a full (or overflowing) pot. Second, as many have pointed out, there are design flaws. Even if you put paper filters in the bottom of the basket, the coffee grounds will fall into your drink through the holes in the top cover. If you don't mind eating your coffee, then this should work for you. Hamilton Beach used to be a company that endorsed its products. While they will likely respond to this negative review by saying to contact them, they won't do anything about it. A day after your order? We would be happy to sell you another one. Don't wait for help. I know this because I just dealt with them for a cook that has been used about half a dozen times and was just out of warranty when it decided it just stopped working. Will not buy any other Hamilton Beach product. je.
