I cannot recommend Seachem Renew at all. another measurable or visible aspect in my aquarium water or other filter medium. I tried adding it to my filter for a month based on the fact that it would work with an effect like Activated Charcoal or Seachem Purigen but it didn't work. I like other Seachem products but can't figure out what Renew is marketed for as there is no way to prove if it actually removes organics or not. Pumice like Seachem Matrix. I wouldn't recommend following Seachem's instructions to use Renew in the same way as granular activated charcoal, as a little basic geological research will show you that charcoal is incredibly more porous than pumice. If you really need carbon, like removing drugs from water, use carbon.
