Review on Slime 30013 Automotive Accessories by Harry Ashcraft

My mower was in good profile like the others, but there was a large crack in the sidewall. I've licked it off a few times in the past, but it still went flat and eventually broke the edge once while mowing. I read a lot of reviews and thought the Smart Slime Tube was better than I needed, but I took it anyway as it ships quicker than other less expensive tubes and I didn't want to wait for my lawn mower to give up the ghost and the rim came off the nozzle. Wheel in the middle of my partially mowed garden. It took me about 15 minutes to install the Smart Slime Tube. used a 2x4 to raise the mower and then put a concrete block underneath. I easily removed the rubber hub cap and retaining clip with needle nose pliers, then sprayed wd40 on the spindle and removed the wheel. I then washed the outside of the tire and wheel to prevent water from getting into the wheel. I planted the wheel on the narrow end of the other block (standing on end) so the tire could slide further than if it was just lying on the ground. I sprayed the wheel and new tube liberally with a soap and water mixture and it came out without binding. Then I cut off the old valve with needle nose pliers and put the new valve in the hole. Next (and this seemed to be the biggest trick) I found an old nut; 1/2-12 I think and screwed it to the rubber valve stem to hold it in place. I added just enough air to ensure the hose was in place and then reinstalled the wheel on the mower after actually lubricating the spindle, wrench and WD40 cap. Everything went very easily. Finally, I lifted the mower back up, removed the cinder block, placed it on the tire, and slowly vented the new chamber to release the air between the tube and tire. I removed the nut from the valve stem and put the valve cover on. Then I had a beer and finished mowing the lawn. Did. Light. Quickly.
