This adapter was required to connect a standard garden hose to a faucet. The sink faucet is about 15/16 in diameter, which should be pretty standard. To install this adapter, I unscrewed the female aerator from the faucet and screwed on this adapter. If you want, you can then screw the aerator back on. To use the garden hose connection, simply unscrew the original aerator and screw on your garden hose. I've searched several hardware stores and couldn't find this adapter. I doubt you'll find it in big stores.
