You need something like this to install the Garmin Montana AMPS mount

Used on an ATV. The attachment is good, does not vibrate and does not slip. I kept the surface mount and used the handlebar mount that I had to attach to the quad before. After my initial review, I bought three more of these to install the Montana AMPS mount on the UTV and installed and mounted two more on a friend. Cars. No problems in more than 6 years of use.
