Well I'm not a runner but I wear trail running shoes because I like them and they support my feet. I would never buy a pair of socks that expensive - waste of money right? NOT CORRECT! I bought a pair of these socks from REI on sale because I needed a pair of socks badly. I walked around in these socks for a serious 8 hours which I've never managed! no Is always. v. my. Adult. Story. I have very flat feet and am overweight so being able to go shopping for 8 hours without severe leg fatigue is a huge win! However, being a cheapskate, I tried other socks, thinking they would work just as well - no. I don't know what's so special about these socks, what makes them great, but I came back and bought 5 pairs more than I've ever paid for socks in my life and I will do it again. They carry themselves like iron! If and when these socks wear out I will return to buy more. There's something about these socks that keeps your feet from getting tired! I've even started exercising now as I can control my tired legs! I walk 10,000 steps every day and I'm very glad that these socks saved me from pain in my legs. I doubt I will ever wear another brand or style of socks again! Not as long as I have money in my pocket!
