Review on πŸ–₯️ Hewlett Packard C4505A 8230e: High-performance USB CD-Writer for External Use by Shawn Price

Overall works well but also a lot of disappointment!

I bought this in January to use with my new Dell Dimension 800MHz computer. My intention was primarily to make music CDs from files taken from them. and the same. The installation wasn't too difficult for me either, since I didn't have a PC at home (don't do something like that in the office). My first attempts at creating CDs were successful and I was very happy with the product. But then I got more bad burns than good ones. The roller coasters started piling up and I was getting quite frustrated. I have emailed back and forth with HP to help resolve the issue. They asked me to change some internal settings to make the device work better. I was also told to end the task in all other programs except Explorer and also to disable the screen saver! In the end everything worked wonderfully! I have created many different CD-R music files, directly ripped music CDs, as well as data files. The included HP CD-burning software works well, but lacks some of the user-friendly features you might expect (although I understand there's an update I can download for free). 8230, I started having problems again. The last few music CDs I've burned (both from files and direct copies) had the problem that no CD player could recognize the first song. You can play the rest in passing, but it's just stupid. Looks like we'll be emailing HP again. The advice would be PLEASE install it inside if you buy a new system. I'm sure the integration issues will be minimal in comparison. For what it is, the HP machine (usually) gets the job done and looks pretty sharp when it boots up!
