These stands are made from high quality materials with the exception of the plastic brackets where the speakers are mounted. The speakers sit on top of the stand, they are not attached to the stand. The cord management feature is just a groove that the power cord pushes into. Carpet legs are too long and too sharp to be usable or safe to use in most situations. These stands are very sturdy and look good, but leave a lot to be desired as a quality speaker stand in my opinion.
