The pictures are a bit misleading as they appear to show the bag. You need to fold in half and tie 2 loops at each top (right and left) attachment point to make a kind of pouch. The sides are open (not a real case). As for the hardware, I ended up using plastic zip ties to attach them to the 4 corners. The fittings with adhesive deform from heat and cold if they are not screwed to the car's plastic walls. Yes, that's right, I do that! Overall I used mesh but the product is a bit cheap and you think it's a bag. I gave a 2001 Rav 4 AWD and used almost none of the equipment provided.
