It took my rescue parrot about a month to get these pellets but now he seems to love them. At first I don't think he recognized them as food (even when I mixed the pellets with the seeds - he just ate the seeds and left the pellets) and he cried bloody murder for his dose of seeds; So I put a few tablespoons of pellets in my coffee grinder (or you can use a magic bullet blender) to grind them up, put the pellets in its feeder and added a few drops of water. I mixed, added a teaspoon of seeds and a few whole grains, then rolled into a tight ball. Then I rolled the ball in extra seeds and granular dust and dropped it back into its bowl. He swallowed it, picking out most of the seeds but also eating most of the pellet mix. I did this for a couple of weeks and then once he got used to the taste of the ball of noodles and realized it was actually food I just started putting whole pellets and some powdered pellets in his feeder in the mornings (as a I knew he was going to be hungry). Now he only eats pellets and occasionally gets seeds. Now I'm making a seed ball just to get him to eat new veggies, but he's not a fan of seeds anymore.
