I recently bought a 2010 Mazda 3 that had a dash cover. I researched why when I was about to buy it and found a sticky substance on the dashboard. I thought of course I can get rid of the sticky stuff! I had no idea that sticky garbage was my idiot. The previous owner probably put chemicals on it and messed up the plastic. No matter what I put on it, the stickiness didn't go away, and the line pressed in easily with just a fingernail (and won't come off!). So I thought about what I could do to fix it and settled on carbon fiber as I've seen several people use this material to make their features more "sporty". I wasn't disappointed! It was perfect and my dash looks 100 times better! Lessons Learned: If you can trim the template down a bit and tuck the edges into a slit or slot, DO IT. The edges didn't stick very well to my dash in places, but I learned that lesson pretty quickly and adjusted my methods. Heat is definitely your friend too. This helped it mold around the curves even better (even the small curves looked physically better after I heated them up with a hair dryer and smoothed them out a bit more!)
