Be patient while you do the work yourself - it looks great!

It takes a steady hand and a lot of precision to get the results you expect. I made a few small mistakes as I continued to customize my sporty Outlander BUT you had to look closely to see the finer details. I'll post a photo later. I have 6 supports that I want to cover as the standard supports are terrible with their flat carbon finish. Vinyl is very easy to work with, especially in the sun - the hotter the weather the more pliable the product is to remove, move etc. ENSURE all posts are…

Damn this works great on my BMW dash and other interior trim

I used this for the interior trim on my 2015 BMW F32 (428xi coupe) which was walnut. I did the dashboard trim, door handles and part of the center console. All in all, it took about an hour to remove, pack, and reinstall the fairing. MUCH faster than I expected. A 5x1 foot roll was enough to cover everything but next time I'll go for 2 rolls so I have more work to do. I used a two-temperature blow dryer on low heat. the piece was the smallest - the larger pieces were much lighter. Vinyl is VERY

My steering wheel looks 100 times better!

I recently bought a 2010 Mazda 3 that had a dash cover. I researched why when I was about to buy it and found a sticky substance on the dashboard. I thought of course I can get rid of the sticky stuff! I had no idea that sticky garbage was my idiot. The previous owner probably put chemicals on it and messed up the plastic. No matter what I put on it, the stickiness didn't go away, and the line pressed in easily with just a fingernail (and won't come off!). So I thought about what I could do to…

Easy to use, great look, great product.

I have an old Toughbook that I really like. The mouse pad eventually developed a small hole, and I was faced with an awkward dilemma - replace it or try to cover it up. New replacement mouse pads cost about $100 and require significant computer disassembly. I tried covering it with clear tape, which seemed to work, but was difficult to track (jerky mouse movements). I ordered Carbon 3M with low hopes. I peeled off the tape and cleaned the carpet. I then applied a large piece of 3M carbon fiber…

Probably the best vinyl choice for the DIY enthusiast

Although this is probably the most expensive vinyl, it is also probably the highest quality in terms of looks, application and durability. I have used this material in a variety of ways for some time. From paintball gear/parts, car parts, cell phone and laptop cases. Looks very realistic, design and pattern that is 3D and textured to really look like carbon fiber. Some cheaper brands definitely skimp on this aspect. They sell a variety of carbon fiber colors (more black, silver/black, and…
