I know you've looked everywhere for a 5 inch offset latch for Kwikset and this is the only one you can find. The same applies here. We have an old house with an original door and this is the only one we could find. I bought this and it broke during installation. Do not use a hammer to lightly hammer them in (per the instructions). Make sure the hole is big enough so it snaps into place without tapping. We ordered a second one here from Revain and it was well received. It still doesn't open all the way when the handle is turned, so the latch pulls a bit behind the door frame when opening, but it works better than a worn 60's old. Original. I'm sure it won't be another 60 years, but we'll see. When this happens I will reply 2079.
