I bought this cable to connect my laptop to a docking station so I needed a USB-c cable with video support - I found that many USB Cables and adapters -c does NOT support video, only data transfer and power supply (charging). So be careful when choosing a USB-c cable. Now EVERYTHING in my configuration goes through this cable: video, ethernet, audio, data, peripherals, power. It's basically an umbilical cord for my laptop - I only have one cord that needs to be unplugged when I move my laptop away from the table. The cable is solid and well made and I chose the rectangular laptop connector as it slides under the monitor stand - the cable that came with the dock was sticking out the side of the laptop and snagging on the leg . monitor stand. The properties of the cable are excellent. Highly recommended.
