This little monocular is a great buy. Granted, it doesn't have a German-made, hand-ground, precision lens, but c'mon, it's super cheap and the clarity is pretty good - make it 'excellent' for $11 with free shipping. I used to have binoculars. But for those with mixed vision who don't wear contacts, especially those like me with astigmatism in one eye who only use reading glasses, binoculars are useless. It's just that there's no way to set them to the same definition for both eyes, I rarely bothered to try so they sat in a drawer. One day I realized I was closing one eye to try and make the binoculars work for me - basically I was just using one lens anyway - so I gave the binoculars to my daughter who has 20/20 vision ( give her time honey) and bought it this little monocular. Bring it to the eye with better vision, adjust it, voila! It works so well that I bought two more as gifts for friends. I use it all the time to watch little birds from my window. We have a lot of them around town and yes, even us mean and rude New Yorkers enjoy spotting little birds!
