I received this as a headlight for my extremely powerful and extremely fast electric bike that runs on a 48v system. I was very surprised at how bright the light is. However, when I'm riding my motorcycle at 30-40 mph in the middle of the night, there isn't enough light to safely illuminate the road at those speeds. At 0-15mph I think it's safe enough to illuminate the road enough to anticipate hazards. Between 24 and 40 km/h it really depends on how fast you can react and how bad the roads are in your area. At any speed, this light is bright enough to actually annoy motorists (because it doesn't have a level cutoff and it's a bright blue LED), and I turn it off if I collide with oncoming traffic when they're nearby.
