Review on 🌬️ Enhanced Cooling Fan Assembly for Ford Edge: TYC 622040 Radiator/Condenser Replacement by Chris Goldsby

Great fan replacement!

I have a 2008 Ford Edge with a tow package and almost 180,000 miles on it. The air conditioning suddenly stopped blowing while idling, but worked while driving. I checked the fans, the driver's side fan was not working. Ordered this replacement on Sunday and it arrived on Thursday. The assembly looks very nice and is very similar to the original part. It was well packed in foam blocks to insulate it in the box. I've watched a few YouTube videos on how to do an exchange and I'm more convinced than ever that YouTube is full of jerks and jerks. The clips ranged from a few minutes to almost 30 minutes, but they can all be summed up with the motto "remove the old part, install the new part". Here they are"useful"! As there is no information on this I will share some tips on what I have learned: - There are two 8mm screws holding the knot, one on each side. Remove the airbox and airbox bracket to access the driver's side - The fan assembly can be replaced without removing the radiator hose. Take a couple of straps and use them to pull the hose and wire harness as far away from the radiator as possible (after disconnecting the wire harness connectors from the fan assembly). - There is something about my model that was not mentioned anywhere - the lower radiator hose is attached to the bottom of the fan assembly. It is an 8mm screw, remove it before attempting to pull the fan assembly out. You don't need to unplug the connectors from the fans to the controller, just one from the main wiring harness to the controller. This is from the driver's side. It has a tab, press the tab and pull the connector to remove. The fan unit is very tight. I had to pull it towards the driver and then turn it 90 degrees to get it out of the car. Be careful not to damage the cooling fins with the corners of the fan assembly. It took a lot of convincing to get it out. - To install the new fan assembly I did the same thing - rotated it 90 degrees to seat it and then rotated it back while I put it in place. - Reinstall everything in reverse order. Don't forget to screw the lower radiator hose bracket back on! Hope that helps! I didn't take the time, but I think it took me about 45 minutes. I've been riding the Edge for a week since the replacement and so far so good! The fans seem to me to be as quiet as the OEM fans and work just as well. I'll try to remember to review them in a few months. Update 8/8/16 - A little over a month and a few thousand miles later and it's still working. big!
