Dan's wife is here. It is very similar to the button bracelets so popular with children, only two layers are glued together. This works really well on my fine/thin hair, although I have to add a pin or two to the top of the bun to keep it secure on my head. Maybe my hair is too thin and soft because I gave two of these to my daughter who has shorter and MUCH thicker hair and has kept her hair secure all day and she didn't have to add extra bobby pins. She has layers and it was harder to keep them all stacked indoors. I would like to find it in white or gray as my hair is silver and black and brown can be a problem to hide in. Again, my hair is pretty fine and fine, which probably complicates things. I would buy more if they were white or gray.
