I have several pairs of light-soled Merrell shoes, mostly low-top sneakers and casual shoes. They stand sportier, lean you a bit forward and give you more suspension. I'm not a runner but I think it would be good. The mesh body is fairly thin and well ventilated, so I think they're best in warm weather and not great in mud or wet, which is a bit odd given their purpose. I wanted a comfortable athletic casual shoe and it worked, but I was usually looking for more weather resistance. Eventually they become very small. I run a 9 or 9.5 in most shoes - my other Merrels are a 10 but I should have gotten a 10.5 (45) in these.
