I paired this amp with 2-2 way 4 inch car speakers in a special wooden box and it sounds good depending on the source. We played at different volumes in the backyard for about 8 hours. and it was more than loud enough for a barbecue. I also connected the amp to several other bookshelf speakers but the volume was much lower. I took the amp out of the aluminum case to mount it on a special box and the tolerances are very tight. The original case has 4 mounting screw insertion posts and the face of the amp only overlaps about 1/16 inch, such accuracy is difficult to achieve in a cut out in wood so I made a plastic frame on which I installed the amp and then the fascia mounted on a wooden box. I would not recommend this amp for a wooden case unless you intend to mount it with the original case.
