Review on Brilliant Control Lighting Switch Version by Christopher Clearfield

Revainrating 5 out of 5

After the last firmware updates. it's the winner

I use two of these panels along with 10 of their individual switch panels to control various lights and other smart home elements. There were some stability issues initially (I think due to the addition of individual switches), but after two updates they worked without issue for several weeks. Brilliant controls give you far more power and flexibility in controlling your lighting than any other option. . For example, you can directly control regular incandescent bulbs, LED bulbs, or even Philips Hue bulbs in lighting fixtures (in other words, the power is always on, but the switch communicates with the Hue bulbs to turn them off wirelessly, which is VERY handy for everyone the switch has a built in proximity sensor (so you can use it to turn on the light in the room when you walk in) or as a standard light switch, separate switches that allow you to expand the system to do a lot more than just control the lights, you can Control your thermostat (if supported by e.g. Ecobee, Nest and maybe others), dim the lights, control other devices like ALL built-in SmartThings devices, etc. It can work as a camera and can show you video from supported external cameras as the nest show I am very satisfied with the devices.

Pros
  • INTEGRATED SONOS, RING AND LOCK CONTROL: Now everyone in the house can easily view and play music with Sonos speakers, see who's at the door with the Ring Video Doorbell, and open the door with a compatible Smart Unlock lock - all without a phone.
Cons
  • So far so good
