Review on Excalibur ET460 Einstein Cognitive Trainer by Jason Clemons

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Times are changing

EINSTEIN MIND TRAINER is an electronic game that helps a person keep their mental muscles in shape. A total of eleven puzzles can be played on the device. Games test various attributes, including imagination (I think it's a test of intelligence, not imagination), analysis, memorization, numeracy, intuition, and listening skills. Most games can be played with the small stylus that comes with the MIND TRAINER. I enjoyed playing most of the games on MIND TRAINER, although there were about three or four games that disappointed me and didn't really appeal to me. However, the device has limited appeal. This would have been an amazing little piece of wearable technology 15-20 years ago. That silenced my siblings and I in the family station wagon or minivan after we got tired of playing the "license plate game" or "I'm spying" and so on. Nowadays there are kids as young as five or six who have cell phones, and with a modern cell phone you can play all kinds of games, many of which are similar to the EINSTEIN MIND TRAINER games. Who needs an electronic match game when you can play Tetris or Pac Man on your phone? EINSTEIN MIND TRAINER is something that will likely appeal to younger children and older people. It is unlikely to be useful for people aged 15-45.
