Review on Injen Technology IS1471P Polished Intake by Matthew Aiono

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Honda CR-V 2005 - fits. Something like. And it's better than consuming DC Sports.

TL,DR: Will fit a 2005 Honda CR-V but needs some work. Sounds incredible. MPG is better when driving slowly. Better BBBBBBWWWWRRRRRR if you drive fast. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This part fits a 2005 Honda CR-V if you came here to inquire. I don't know if it fits other model years. BUT: There are a few big caveats. let me explain. If you don't already know, Acura is owned and essentially Honda's luxury brand. For this reason, many engine components are common to different vehicles. If you compare a 2005 Acura RSX 2.0L I4 and a 2005 Honda CR-V 2.4L I4, they look pretty much the same, except of course the Acura engine is smaller. Although the engines look the same and this air intake seems to fit, you'll see that it needs a little tweaking to make it work. breathing hoses. If you look at the bracket coming from the Injen air intake, you will see that it is not bolted to the factory air intake bracket. This is because the Acura 2.0L engine is smaller (I think) and therefore the throttle body and stock mounting bolt are closer together, and while this intake valve is specifically designed for that exact spacing, it's not at this point to accommodate the to reach piston . Intake screw on CR-V. I had to make a special bracket with a second screw to attach the air intake to the engine. I did this by mangled a random tiny wrench I found in my dad's barn. It was about 2.5 to 3 inches long and I had to bend the middle and both ends in opposite directions until it worked. You need to do something like this for this air intake to fit in a 2005 CR-V. Along with the bracket, the standard vent hose and vacuum hose don't really reach the injen holes. I cut the old heater hose to fit and got a free piece of smaller hose from Advance Auto Parts when I asked if they had the same size hose as the stock hose. If you're a little mechanically savvy, you should be able to figure it out. The overdrive clutch works well, but you may find that it doesn't sit perfectly on the intake since you have to mount it at a greater angle to the engine on a CR-V than on an Acura. Just make sure it fits the coupling as snugly as possible and tighten the hose clamp snugly, you should be fine. If you can fit it in the engine bay, this intake will work great. It looks really good on this inline 4 and yes it sounds fantastic. It's really cool to hear all the intake noise coming from the engine while driving. I don't know if it's the case with many engines or just the CR-V, but if you step on the gas hard you can hear a nice "sigh" of intake air just before the engine revs up. . Very good. In my opinion it sounds best when the engine is running in 2nd or 3rd gear, under load (almost half or half throttle) and around 2500-4000 rpm. It's very loud, deep and amazing. I've been riding on this intake for about a week since I put it on and have found that you can get a little more MPG on slow rides. But when you step on the gas to get that sweet, sweet BBBWWWWRRRRRRRR, you use more gas. Does it give you better throttle response? A little. does it give you more power I think so. It can give you slightly better acceleration and more torque, but most of the time it just sounds great. And if you ever want to upgrade your exhaust, chances are you need more air flowing through the engine to get a more pronounced sound, and this intake is a great way to get that extra power. I can only speak from my experience with my CR-V but I'm sure the performance aspect is very similar to the Acura RSX. I'm sure Ingen wouldn't recommend you install this part on a vehicle that wasn't designed for it. Per. However, after much research, I took the plunge and it was worth it. The only other air intake I found for my car was the DC Sports air intake (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004OV7YJ6?tag=duckduckgo-d-20&linkCode=osi&th=1&psc=1) and I think this is the case Injen is better than this. Yes, it's more expensive, but it's worth it. This air intake has been tuned and specifically designed to work well with the Honda K engine and it shows. If you managed to read all of this, thank you. If you own a 2005 CR-V and want to get into tuning and car work in general, this is a good place to start. But you must DO YOUR RESEARCH. This was the only way I could find a suitable part for my car. Check out the forums, watch YouTube videos and do whatever you need to do to LEARN more about your car. Don't spend your entire paycheck (or two or three) on a piece just because it looks cool. Make sure it fits. I've had very good luck with this technique and I'm grateful for that. But above all have fun. Working with cars can suck, but it can also be the catalyst for great memories and even a lifelong career. There's a lot more to say, but I'm not writing a book here (okay, I know how it looks, but I'm bored, let me type). Thanks again for reading all of this, if you have. Have a nice day.
