Review on 🐸 Exquisite Oakland Living Frog Bird Bath: A Charming Oasis for Avian Visitors by Angela Brooks

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I wouldn't buy it again, but I don't want to worry about returning it either.

I gave it one star to try and make the overall rating reflect the actual product. It gets two stars at best. I suspect the factory in China that makes them has no quality control. Problems: 1) The post that attaches the pallet to the base is in two parts. They are *weakly* held together by a single screw. The hole on the outer rod is too small for the screw that came with it and I had to use a hammer to get it out, which I'm pretty sure the screw snapped off. The other half of the rod doesn't even have a suitable hole for a bolt! Instead, a flat groove of approx. 1 mm depth runs all the way around. It makes the whole hole wobbly, rather wobbly than a hard surface for a bird to land on, and it makes the whole thing awkward to move around. I'm afraid it will fall apart and fall on my leg! 2) The frog was made bad. There is a noticeable gap on the back where it should have been sealed. 3) The pallet part is thin compared to other parts. 4) Part of the pallet didn't match the shelf very well. an exercise in frustration that ended in a sigh of frustration and resignation. My husband was able to macGyver it a bit, so it's a bit more stable. I don't think $150 can buy a good bird bath. In general it's nice. I really wanted a ceramic tub but got this one thinking the squirrels would tip over and break the ceramic tub. The bottom of this tub is heavy enough to prevent this, but I wish I had a ceramic one.
