If you are building your door like I did it's best to install the bar first .

Very well made product. Much nicer than black ones. instructions are minimal and metric but actually works out very well and more precice than inches.(with help of google a couple times to convert for sanity checks). If you are building your door like I did it's best to install the bar first then calculate height of door. Pretty easy to calculate hole and clearance distances. I used a 1x2 board against sheet rock to screw lags into. I managed to get 3 of the lags to hit studs through the 1x2 so the other 2 still had purchase in the 1x2 itself. also the 1x2 has support over the opening by resting on the top of my existing door trim. That way I was able to add trim to door frame and door was positioned perfectly. After seeing this one am going to add a new closet downstairs and buy another one now.

Make sure you have sufficient side room. Our door is right next to a wall and because the track is predrilled, the holes do not line up with the 16" studs. If your door is in a corner next to a wall, make sure to get an adjustable track. Other then that, the product is nice. I will be purchasing a new track and trying to sell what I purchased since it has been too long to return what I purchased.
