I wanted to love this so much! My son was so excited to have the car waffles. Such a big disappointment! As soon as I cooked the first batch, the nonstick coating immediately peeled off and stuck to the food. I tried three batches and each time more and more of the coating came off and no matter how much oil they stuck like crazy. Couldn't eat any, I won't let him eat waffles in a gray metal bowl. He was so excited! Not sure if I'm willing to exchange and try again, just hoping this one was just defective.
