I've had this cone of shame since last January and it's stopping my 13 lb cat who has had a plethora of health issues. I have an L and it's basically as tight as it gets. If your cat is smaller, get an M or S. Try as he might, he didn't come out and seems much more comfortable than wearing the one the vet gave us. I have to clean it every 2 days but that may be because my cat is very dirty. Simply wipe off quickly with soap and water. I let the pieces of fabric air dry for about 20 minutes, giving it a carefully controlled free time from the cone. However, you can always dry these parts faster if you wish. The velcro part is of course the heaviest and falls off when he wears it. It's enough to keep him from getting his ass, but he has no trouble eating or drinking at all, just a pathetic standard cat with a cone-like demeanor. XD I rarely leave product reviews but I know when you're looking for a cone on Amazon you're looking for something more durable or comfortable and I mean this is the best.
