This is an amazing device. But only at a distance. The 5x optical zoom is FIXED so you can't use it to look around the campsite unless you're very patient. (They say it will focus out to 6ft, but the field of view at 6ft is 5 inches. I measured it. So it's not good up close. But from a distance, with a decent light, it's amazing. And for stargazers WOW I got it at 1am and got an attached photo of Jupiter with Io and Europa and Ganymede (and maybe Callista) is clearly visible to the naked eye! I thought it was amazing! I had something on my mind though Hoping for more useful things up close, such as tracking wildlife in the forest.
