I bought this key fob for a 2012 Chevy Equinox with electric lock, alarm and remote start. The one I had broke so all I had left was the part you put in the ignition to start the car. Not even the entire inverted part, just the cut out part. I took the pin out of the new key, put my little piece of key in it and put the pin back in. Do this carefully over the magnet to avoid losing the pin. For programming you will need 1 working old key and the new key you just bought. Step 1 = Start the car with the old key, wait 10 seconds (when all warning lights go off). Turn off the car and remove the old key. Step 2 = Quickly reboot the machine with the new key and wait 10 seconds like you just did. "I did steps 1 and 2 again." Step 3 = Restart the car with a new key, wait 10 seconds, then turn off the car, exit and test the remote buttons. Works great, price and delivery were great. 10 stars for everything.
